DESCRIPTION

Leonardo Cesari Jazz Combo is a Rome-Italy based band led by drummer, composer, and producer Leonardo Cesàri. The band was born out of the quest for a sound that weds the jazz of the 1950s and 60s with the rhythms distilled from contemporary club music. They combines hard-bop, east oriented sound and cinematic atmospheres. But more than the cultural diversity of the style’s, the defining characteristic of The Co-Workers’s music is the joy of performing together in the perpetual push to grow creatively. Their show is a journey from New york to South-American caraibbean rhythms as well to Cuban beats. The brass are unresistible and warm up all the dancefloors with their special sounds and nightime and exotic rhythms.

Biographies:

Leonardo Cesari is graduated in jazz at the ” Licinio Refice” academy of music in Frosinone, Italy. He plays drums and percussion in groups like Piccola banda Ikona and Klezroym. He teamworks as drummer with different musicians and as regular in jazz groups for whom he composes music. He has written soundtracks for documentaries and tv programs like “La storia siamo noi” di G.Minoli-In 2011 he took part in the Biennale di Venezia sound recording a work by ” Officina Materica”. BRUNO SALICONE (Battipaglia1982) Jazz pianist, composer and arranger, session Man. Training: He studied jazz piano technique with the well-known Neapolitan teacher Francesco Nastro, in 2008 he enrolled at the Triennial Jazz of the Frosinone Conservatory “L.Refice”, directed by M ° Ettore Fioravanti; he will study with the masters Greg Burk, Carlo Negroni, Roberto Spadoni, Stefano Caturelli, Luigi Onori, Paolo Tombolesi, Marco Tiso (Superior Experimental Triennio Diploma in June 2012). Artistic collaborations (selection): Fabrizio Bosso, Daniele Scannapieco, Jerry Popolo, Antonio Imparato, Stefano Giuliano, Maurizio Giammarco, Sandro Satta, Ettore Fioravanti, Claudio Corvini, Marcello Rosa, Elvio Ghigliordini, Stepan Markovic, Ondrej Stveracek, Danilo Bughetti, Lorenzo Tucci , Kristyna Kachtikova, Nicola Di Tommaso, Jean Paul Estivenart, Roberto Giaquinto, Tomas Baros, Jacopo Ferrazza, Gaetano Fasano, Roberto Spadoni. He collaborates permanently with double bassist Francesco Galatro and the drummer Armando Luongo, with whom he founded the Hypocontrio in 2004, the trio will be classified as the best group of “EUROPEN JAZZ CONTEST”, consequently he will record “The beginning love affair” in 2011 unpublished pieces of composition of the three young musicians, which also sees the collaboration of the Belgian trumpet player Jean Paul Estivenart. He is also the pianist of the Cuban music sextet Cojunto Sabroson, co-leader the percussionist Gerardo Palumbo and the singer Michele Magnotta.

FEDERICO PASCUCCI is a musician hailing from Italy, he has lived the jazz music experience through an intense activity of studies and concerts around Europe, based in the cities of Lisbon, Amsterdam and Rome. During his study cereer he had many teachers like Kurt Rosenwinkel, Eric Harland, George Garzone, Jim Snidero, Jeff Ballard from USA, as well as the Italian masters Pierluigi Quarta, Maurizio Giammarco, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu and Gianluigi Trovesi, in the schools of Testaccio (Rome), the Academy of Frosinone, Siena Jazz and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Now-a-days his artistic work embraces a detailed research of musical styles from Balkans and Asia Minor, that resulted in the Master thesis (at Conservatorium van Amstedam) “The Saxophone in the Balkans – Roots and secrets of saxophone playing among Macedonian Roma”, collaborations with the Roma bands Kocani Orkestar and Sercuk Orkestar and in the foundation of project as Errichetta Underground (Italy) and Tugoslavic Orkestar (Portugal). Since 2006 the intese performance activity makes him travel between clubs and festival stages with project as European Saxophone Ensemble (Belgium, CE), Agios Lavrentios Brass Band of Hayden Chisholm (Greece, Germany), Errichetta Underground (Italy), Malson, Kumpania Algazarra, Nelson Cascais Decateto (Portugal), WAS (Portugal, France), Animatronic Leviathan (Netherlands, Germany), Storytellers (Italy). In 2010 he wins the “critics prize” in the national competition of the Italian accademies “Premio delle Arti”. In 2011 the movie “The dark side of the sun” directed by C.S.Hintermann in which he features as music composer wins the prize for the best soundtrack at the Sulmona Film Festival. Since 2011 he is organizer of Errichetta Festival, between the most important events for the traditional eastern music in Italy.
