Nick Digia

Born in Rome in 1972 in a house surrounded by music, to a singer-songwriter father.

At around eight years old, he began strumming the guitar, and by twelve he was already playing all genres of music: from chart-topping pop to Latin American, traditional music, and folk. He was captivated by the sound of the guitar and everything related to studio production.

This led to his passion for many instruments besides the guitar, becoming a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer. He is passionate about ’70s music: Santana, Lee Ritenour, Isaac Hayes, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder… His musical idol is David Bowie for his eclecticism and experimentation, and his favorite guitarists are Mick Ronson, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, and Reeves Gabrels.

Despite being a guitarist, he’s passionate about electronic music, listening to Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, and Pet Shop Boys, and is passionate about Connie Plank’s work as a producer. Indeed, over the years, he’s primarily worked as a ghost producer for house music, working on a myriad of tracks, both original and remixed.

Over the years, he’s seen every recording medium, from tape to MIDI to the latest computer technology, with which he keeps himself constantly updated. He collaborates both in the studio as a producer and on stage as a guitarist and musical director with many artists, the most notable of which are those who have shaped music history in Italy and around the world: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso and Il Balletto di Bronzo, and Nada, with whom he has enjoyed fruitful and enduring collaborations.
