Broken Camera
Fuzz Garden

The text ideally arises from the chance discovery, on the streets of Rome, of an old analog camera with a roll of film still to be developed. From this forgotten object, a poetic reflection takes shape: the photographs become symbols of faded memories, fragments of a past history and a love now lost. The “broken camera” thus represents the impossibility of stopping time and fully recovering the past, suggesting that some experiences, however evocative, are destined to remain incomplete or fade away.

Giorgio Baldi is an Italian musician, guitarist, songwriter, and producer known for his long-standing work in the Italian music scene. He has collaborated extensively with Max Gazzè, contributing as a guitarist, arranger, and producer on various succesfull projects, as well as working with other prominent Italian artists. He has written, produced, arranged, and performed for Raf, Tommaso Di Giulio, Luca Faggella, Von Datty, Mauro Di Maggio, Alberto Belgesto, Benji & Fede, Marina Rei, Paola Turci, Angela Baraldi, Volwo, Andrea Chimenti, Matthew Marston and Stan Ridgway. Appreciated for his refined style, versatility, and strong live performances, Giorgio Baldi has built a respected career both in the studio and on stage, helping shape the sound of contemporary Italian pop and rock music. He has also composed several film soundtracks, including “Radio West”, “Chi Nasce Tondo”, “Road to L”, and “Una Gran Voglia di Vivere”, alongside other various works for radio broadcast and TV commercials. Among his most important and significant works are those created with Dorothy Circus Gallery, notably the trilogy of sound installations Furore, Inside Nostalghia, and Venenum et Medicamentum.

Marco Coluzzi was an active figure in the Italian underground scene between the late 1980s and early 1990s. After his experience with Castigo Ridendo Mores, a youth project born during his years at high school, he was a founding member of Magic Potion, a band firmly rooted in the psychedelic revival of the period. A songwriter, singer, and guitarist, Coluzzi helped define the identity of a group that was part of an international network of bands that, outside of commercial circuits, revived and reinterpreted 1960s psychedelia—particularly British—through the independent sensibility of the 1980s. In Italy, this scene remained niche but surprisingly vibrant, fueled by independent labels, fanzines, cassettes, and concerts in alternative spaces. Magic Potion’s sound fully reflects this context: references to the most visionary psychedelia of Syd Barrett and the early London underground intertwine with elements of American underground paisley. What emerges are oblique melodies, suspended atmospheres, reverberating guitars, and a “neo-garage” aesthetic with a decidedly sixties feel. While still a cult name, Magic Potion represent a significant point of contact between the Anglo-Saxon psychedelic tradition and its reworking in the European underground, helping to define a small but significant Italian scene linked to neo-psychedelia.
