Dynamic 4

Year 1969, at the same time to the last preparations for the first trip of the man on the moon in all secretiveness a new machine came. It was much more advanced of the Apollo one, and so a small group of musicians called The Dynamic Four (while the whole humanity followed the deeds of Armstrong & Co.) found the way to travel in the time!!! Their intent was to bring their music in another time, in the future, in the III° millennium. Nowadays, to the unknowness of all, Dynamic Four are between us. At first, their music went out from a small mono loudspeaker of an old  turntable and now it keeps on playing in the hi-fi systems of the modern equipment players of the 21st century. So watch out for them……….if you like the Blue Note breaks you can’t misss them…………..catch their special vintage sounds flavored with the beatiful voice of Pauline London, who done all the vocals on the  Barrio Jazz Gang’s cd Spectrum.

Stefano “fisher” Micarelli is the leader of the band and has grown with the illness of the music. Already to one year his  prevailing occupation was to fumble with the 45’s of Tom Jones and the Yardbirds, he also listened to the back. Lightened by the jazz he has founded different projects where he forced the musicians to play his tunes and the times that he didn’t do that he played the guitar with Harvie Swartz, George Garzone, Massimo Manzi, Eddie Henderson, Bennie Maupin. 

He has secretly cultivated, for more than 20 years, a passion for the music programming with the computer. This has flowed into the association with the DJ-producer Roby J.Colella (Funky juice rec)  and in the project of the group  Barrio Jazz Gang known in the european and  international club-charts.

Anno 1969, in contemporanea agli ultimi preparativi per il primo viaggio dell’uomo sulla luna in tutta segretezza veniva messa a punto una macchina ben più avanzata dell’Apollo. Fu così che un manipolo di musicisti che si facevano chiamare The Dynamics 4 mentre l’umanità intera seguiva le gesta di Armstrong & Co. trovò il modo per viaggiare nel tempo. Il loro intento era di portare la loro musica in un’altra epoca, nel futuro, nel III° millennio. Ora nel presente che stiamo vivendo i Dynamics 4 all’insaputa di tutti sono tra noi e la loro musica che prima usciva da un piccolo altoparlante mono del mangiadischi continua a suonare negli impianti Hi-Fi di oggi.

Stefano Micarelli cresce con la malattia della musica, già ad un anno la sua occupazione prevalente era armeggiare con i 45 giri dei Camaleonti e dei Rokes, (ascoltava anche il retro). Folgorato dal jazz ha fondato diversi progetti dove costringeva i musicisti a suonare i suoi pezzi e le volte che non lo faceva suonava la chitarra con Harvie Swartz, George Garzone, Massimo Manzi, Eddie Henderson, Bennie Maupin. Segretamente e da più di 20 anni coltiva una passione per la programmazione musicale al computer, cosa che sfocia nel sodalizio con il DJ-producer Roby Colella della “Funky juice rec” e nel progetto del gruppo Barrio Jazz Gang conosciuti nelle club-charts europee e non.

Militante in numerose orchestre Jazz oriented l’altosassofonista Daniele Tittarelli è stato premiato come miglior solista al concorso “Tremplin jazz 2000” di Avignone  (Francia). La sua duttilità lo porta ad affiancare alla sua attività jazzistica frequenti incursioni in territori limitrofi come con il gruppo tecno-pop I.H.C.

E’ noto il suo attaccamento al suo quartiere ‘Garbatella’ (Roma-Italia-Europa-Mondo) a cui dedica dischi e concerti, quasi un paese-microcosmo nella città di cui sogna un giorno di diventare sindaco. Pietro Lussu è il nobile del gruppo, il suo portamento elegante incute da subito un certo timore reverenziale che però crolla quando il nostro si siede all’organo dove si trasforma in un canguro funambolico. Già al fianco di Nicola Conte in alcune sue performance, collabora attualmente come pianista con Rosario Giuliani con il quale ha già fatto numerose tournée europee e ben tre CD.

A lui si deve anche il sostegno ritmico-bassistico della band e il “lounge-touch” dell’organo elettrofonico. Nelle cantine di Via Veneto e nei concerti pomeridiani delle sale da thè si forma Armando Sciommeri. Il suo groove non è mai scontato né sfacciato, possiede un suo ‘suono’ che ritrova su qualsiasi batteria lui suoni, anche se preferisce costruirsi da sé rullanti e toms con legni da lui selezionati e lavorati.

Le sue collaborazioni spaziano nell’ambito jazz nazionale e internazionale: Eddie Henderson, Scott Reeves, Alfredo Ponissi, Robert Stillman, George Garzone, Tony Scott, Antonello Salis. Per un periodo della sua vita ha vissuto in Germania dove ha partecipato a progetti che saltuariamente lo vedono riaffacciarsi a Monaco.
