Leonardo Cesari Jazz Combo was born from the desire to experiment with the combination of 50s/60s jazz and the rhythms derived from the contemporary club. And here are ten original songs that play on the wave of compromise between traditional heritage and more pressing atmospheres played by the typical hard bop jazz formation, the quintet, with Federico Pascucci on tenor sax, Claudio Corvini on trumpet, Bruno Salicone on piano, Gabriele Greco on double bass, and Leonardo Cesari on drums (Cesari is also the arranger, creator and producer of the album). In the compositions, some of which are very rhythmic and danceable, and in the interweaving of the wind instruments, you can feel the legacy of greats such as Horace Silver, Cannonbal Adderly, Lee Morgan. LEONARDO CESARI was born in Rome, son of Umberto Cesari “…in 1950, thirty years old, he amazed Italy with his incredible technique and was considered the best Italian pianist…” from JAZZ INCHIESTA ITALIA, page 145, by Enrico Cogno. He began playing the drums at the age of five, later perfecting his skills with Giovanni Cristiani, Roberto Gatto, Maurizio de Lazzaretti, Agostino Marangolo. From DIRTY TRICK he founded the group “TIROMANCINO” with Federico Zampaglione with whom he began an intense live and studio activity, performing more than 500 concerts.
He recorded numerous “sessions” with MASSIMO NUNZI, Trombe Rosse.
He founded a trio with ALESSANDRO GWISS (AIRES TANGO, GIANNI MORANDI etc.) and with LEONARDO DE ANGELIS, an internationally renowned concert artist.
