Presentation:

Skyloom, after years of collaborations with artists and musicians from his local scene, decided to develop a new project where the sound of the piano and electronic beats coexist. Introspective sonic atmospheres blend with a Mediterranean piano style that the artist has developed through years of working close to the sea and surrounded by the nature of the Roma’s countryside. The debut single “Solarflash” was conceived while walking through the deserted dunes of southern Sardinia, where the sun and the desert-like landscape frame a wild and untamed sea.Its harmonic texture, evocative of these landscapes, is supported by the hypnotic cadence of a repetitive electronic beat, like a blank canvas on which to paint. “The greatest education for a musician is life itself. One cannot grow musically without embracing the widest range of experiences.”

Emiliano Pari loves composing at night in his Roman studio near the sea, where wind and rain shape the rhythms of autumn and winter. He is drawn to contrasts between the warmth of the acoustic piano and the sharp, cutting edge of electronic textures, between light and shadow all filtered through a deeply hypnotic and distinctive style. His music aims to move rather than to provoke thought, like an impressionist painting evoking sensations such as thescent of sea salt on summer afternoons or the smell of rain on grass in October. He is a pianist who spent much of his time immersed in books and music,

developing a deep artistic sensitivity. He began exploring the keyboard by playing blues-inspired phrases on his father’s instrument, an experience that led him to formal classical piano studies at the age of six. He later continued his education, earning a diploma in modern and jazz piano from the University of Music in Rome. Over the years, he has had the privilege of performing alongside renowned international artists, including the legendary soul vocalist Martha High, longtime collaborator of James Brown and Maceo Parker. One of his most significant collaborations is with Tony Momrelle (Incognito), one of the UK’s most acclaimed soul singers, with whom he has been performing as a member of the band since 2014. Together, they opened the 2016 UK tour for the legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire. More recently, his collaboration with Funky Juice Records, led by producer Roberto Colella, has brought him further recognition, exploring a musical spectrum ranging from 70s funk to Afro-jazz. He co-produced togeher wirh Rob, the first band full lenghrt album of called by  “Leave All The Bad Thing Behind” by “Blackshapes”.

It was together with Roberto Colella that the idea of this new artistic direction which aims to explore minimal and pianistic landscapes, emerged: creating music inspired by travel, rainy afternoons, and unexpected sunrises deeply introspective and emotional.

This vision gave birth to “Skyloom”:

Sky (The Vast): This represents the “landscape” element. It suggests space, reverb, atmosphere, and the “big picture” of a composition. It implies music that is airy, open-ended, and perhaps a bit cinematic.

Loom (The Intricate): This represents the “minimal” and “pianistic” element. A loom is a tool of precision and repetition. It suggests the rhythmic “weaving” of notes, the mechanical touch of piano hammers, and the deliberate construction of a sonic tapestry.

His artistic project in which he alternates purely original piano compositions with pieces where the piano mergeswith electronic elements. The sound is rooted in ambient, cinematic, and minimalist influences.

Throughout his career, Emiliano Pari has performed at some of the most prestigious international festivals,

including Lugano Estival Jazz, Java Jazz Festival, Igor Butman Jazz Festival in Moscow, the London Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott’s and many others.
